Why We Love Being a Small Business
Being a small business and competing against the big guys can sometimes feel like a David and Goliath battle, but there are many benefits to being David in the business world.
We love the flexibility a small business offers. Like most small businesses we have no red tape and bureaucracy. We aren’t rigid and can adjust in an instant. We aren’t tied down by processes and procedures, and we have the freedom to make snap decisions.
We don’t have a rule book of dos and don’ts for our staff. We empower them to make decisions and take ownership. We give our staff flexibility and in return, they give us 110%.
We can adjust, change direction and reset goals. We can change prices, products and services to suit what is going on around us. We can remain focused on what we are good at, and decline the jobs that are outside of our skill set.
We can offer a personalised service that forges lasting relationships and creates genuine loyalty. We know most of our clients by first name and understand their needs.
We can quickly deal with any complaints. No forms to fill out, no palming the client off to someone else - which at times would be nice! We understand where it went wrong and can generally get it sorted there and then.
Then there is the satisfaction. There is no feeling quite like making something from start to end, and seeing it succeed. The enormous pride you can take in a job well done is hard to beat – it’s one of the main reasons we all get up in the morning and keep working in a small business!
